Behind The Drums

Growing up in Puebla, Mexico, I first started playing drums thanks to my dad. I don’t think he ever expected that handing me a pair of drumsticks would give me a life purpose, and I can’t thank him enough for that.

What began as a simple curiosity eventually became a pursuit of music, learning, and personal growth.

That journey would later take me to Los Angeles, Boston, and now Toronto. Along the way, I had the opportunity to attend Berklee College of Music and later earn a degree in music from Humber College.

Throughout my career, I've performed with a variety of artists, recorded in different musical settings, and taught students of all ages.

I've been extremely fortunate to study with some of the best drummers and educators in the world, including Matt Starr, Gary Chaffee, Thomas Lang, Juan "Carlito" Mendoza, Larnell Lewis, Dom Famularo, and Henrique De Almeida. I know that I’m standing on the shoulders of giants, and I will be forever grateful for their time, knowledge, and patience.

These experiences have shaped not only the way I play, but also the way I teach, perform, and approach music every day.

Today, whether I'm teaching, performing, or recording, that same passion continues to guide everything I do.
